Bliss-Fox Panus widebody electric pushback hits the market

The Bliss-Fox PANUS F1-340e, a 40-tonne fully electric tractor designed for both pushback and extended towing of aircraft up to 380 tonnes, is now available on the commercial market.

The F1-340e is an industry first, built on Bliss-Fox Panus’ unique, perimeter frame chassis, made of heavy-duty steel. “This chassis is guaranteed for life,” says Senior Sales & Marketing Manager, Simone Livraghi. “The vehicle is equipped with two Kessler drive/steer axles, both featuring park brake callipers,” he adds, while its compact size enables optimal handling and reduced steering radius.

The vehicle’s main features include:

  • Large Lithium-ion battery: 215 kwh and 500V approx.
  • Two-hour full charging time
  • Advanced two-wheel and four-wheel drive (switch-on-the-fly)
  • Direct drive traction control system delivering peak power of 850 kW (425 kW per axle)
  • Virtual gears for pushback/towing and free running drive speed limiting
  • Torque-limiting feature for safe towing of lightweight aircraft
  • Regenerative braking system delivering extended operation and reduced fatigue to service brakes
  • Fully integrated, power-on-demand hydraulic system controlling steering, jacks, cabin lift, service brakes, and park brakes
  • Liquid cooling system for heat exchange of traction motors and hydraulic power motor

Inside the cab, meanwhile, the dashboard features Bliss-Fox Panus’ new touchscreen monitor in place of the traditional control panel. The built-in touchscreen provides an advanced automation system with integrated diagnostics and monitoring of all vehicle systems, customisable data logging, remote GSM/GPRS connection, GPS tracking and Wi-Fi connectivity for easy Fleet Management operation.

Eager customers need can see the new vehicle in the flesh at the GSE Expo in Las Vegas, October 2-4, at stand 758.
