Aurora Air International, a cargo airline which recently re-entered the air cargo market after becoming defunct nearly two decades ago, has announced plans to establish a new headquarters at MidAmerica St Louis airport.
The company made the announcement at the recent TIACA Air Cargo Forum in Seoul.
The airline, which plans to operate DC 10s, is looking to schedule Latin America to MidAmerica to Asia and return routings. It says, moreover, that it will specialize in the perishables and pharmaceuticals trade. MidAmerica has noted that the move effectively fills in a gap in the trade lane that the airport and Ningbo Lishe International Airport in China have been working on for the past two years. Airports that will feature on the route are due to be announced in early 2015.
