Salt Lake City International airport and Calgary International airport were both granted Gold Awards, marking consecutive years without employee lost-time injuries or aircraft damage. Calgary, in fact, becomes the first station between Canada and the Caribbean to achieve Gold status.
The Safety Excellence Programme is a United Airlines initiative that creates a partnership between management and labour with a goal of ultimately reducing injuries and aircraft damage. While all locations are encouraged to participate, only sites that meet specific outlined criteria are granted a Silver, Gold or Platinum award.
“I am very proud of the ATS teams in both SLC and YYC,” commented Brian Wood, ATS Vice President, Operations and Customer Service. “We are thrilled to be part of the United Airlines team in these locations, providing below-the-wing services in SLC and full services in YYC. What I am most proud of is the long-term consistency it takes to get to the gold level of this programme.”
ATS handles numerous ramp and customer service operations for United Airlines and has been a partner in Salt Lake City and Calgary for over four years.
