Asian GHI Conference to feature Malaysian Airlines' initiatives

Malaysia Airlines will detail how it deploys ground handling expertise to alleviate the operational pressures caused by growing congestion across Asia’s skies at the 12th Asian GHI Conference on 19-21 March.

Dato' Mohd Salleh Ahmad Tabrani, Head of Airport Services at Malaysia Airlines, will examine the hallmarks of collaborative, high performance partnerships with local handlers in a keynote presentation on March 20.

Asia is forecast by IATA to be the highest driver of new air passenger demand over the next 20 years, with an extra 1.8bn people taking to the air by 2035.Rapid growth has heaped pressure on existing airport infrastructure, with 78% of ground handlers reporting an increase in late arriving flights on stand during 2018, according to GHI research.

Tools and techniques for achieving OTP, safety and quality ground services under time pressure will be discussed by Dato' Mohd Salleh Ahmad Tabrani.

The Malaysia Airlines chief manages the airline ground operations at 16 domestic airports within Malaysia and 44 international airports within the network of MAB. This role includes the oversight of 34 appointed ground handling companies worldwide.

Dato' Mohd Salleh Ahmad Tabrani’s presentation forms part of a three-day best practice-led programme at the 12th Asian GHI Conference, which will debate topics including skills shortages, stakeholder collaboration and GSE electrification.
