During its meeting in Toronto on May 15, the board of the Airport Services Association agreed to set up a joint venture company known as ASA Services with the Swiss company 2assistU.

In order to satisfy training needs and to give even more value to its members, the ASA Board agreed to launch the ASA Academy. The ASA Academy will be managed and led by ASA Services.
ASA Services will be based in Brugg, Zurich and will offer management training globally for ground service providers under the brand of the ASA Academy.
Subsequently, the board of directors elected Reto Gasser of 2assistU Ltd as Managing Director of ASA Services. Gasser has held the position of Managing Partner of 2assistU since 2015 and has a broad range of experience within aviation. As a member of the executive board with dnata Switzerland, he was responsible for Safety, Security, Quality and Compliance and before joining dnata, he was engaged as an Inspector for the Swiss Federal Office of Civil Aviation; he also previously held management functions within several airlines.
As from September 2016, the ASA Academy will start providing professional training at selected locations in Bangkok, Istanbul, Miami and Brugg. Initial courses in the form of blended learning on Management, Training, Safety and Security, together with Quality and Crisis Management, can now be booked.
