Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, Akbar Al Baker, has assumed duties as Chairman of the IATA Board of Governors for a one-year term.
The term becomes effective from today (June 5), upon conclusion of the 74th IATA Annual General Meeting in Sydney, Australia.
Al Baker, commented: "I am delighted to be here in Sydney and honored to be leading the IATA Board of Governors as Chairman for the year ahead."
Al-Baker has been CEO of Qatar Airways Group since 1997.
