The new all-cargo carrier has its first 747-400F in tow, complete with new livery and full flight crew, and now waits only for its Air Operator Certificate from the UK’s Civil Aviation Authority.
CargoLogicAir’s aircraft was originally destined for sister airline AirBridgeCargo and was leased from Aircastle before being sent to London Stansted, where it has been undergoing flight tests for much of November. London’s Stansted airport will act as the headquarters for the new carrier.
Following its launch, CargoLogicAir will be the UK’s only maindeck airline and will carry out both scheduled and charter operations, though the specifics are yet to be decided. CargoLogicAir is a subsidiary of Volga-Dnepr.
AirBridgeCargo’s President, Denis Ilin, explained earlier this month that CargoLogicAir would be operated on more of a charter basis. AirBridgeCargo, which received two new 747-8F aircraft from Boeing in early November, intends to interline with CargoLogicAir at some point in the future.
