The Innovation award category is open to those stakeholders whose innovation has helped achieve a standout improvement in ground handling performance.
Entries could include employee-led innovations that have helped boost safety/OTP of partnerships with GSE or IT suppliers that have helped handlers unlock ground-breaking advances in equipment performance, sustainability or digitisation across the airport.
The Innovation category is one of four fields now open for submissions at this year’s awards. The Pride of Ground Handling Awards have run since 2018 with a mission to champion ground service excellence around the globe and the people who make it happen.
The entry deadline is 4 October and the winners will be revealed at a grand final held at the GHI Annual Conference in Barcelona on 3 December.
The current Innovation Award holder is SATS Asia-Pacific Star for their Aircraft Safety Rollers initiative. This lightweight, convenient and portable roller device impressed judges with its ability to reduce manual strain on ramp employees during loading and unloading, as well as being operationally time-saving.
Our judges said: “You do not need to make huge investments to be innovative – simple can also make great innovations. Simple but effective. “
Do you have an innovation worth shouting about? Please support our campaign to showcase industry excellence by entering it for the Pride of Ground Handling Awards.
