The airline becomes the first Latin America carrier to gain IATA's pharmaceutical acknowledgement.

Transporting pharmaceutical and life science products calls for strict processes and procedures so that the integrity of the supply chain is not compromised. IATA's CEIV certification has been developed to ensure that carriers which transport such commodities are doing so with as much care as possible.
LATAM Cargo's final audit was held in January 2017, which verified that the freight carrier and its processes were in compliance with the particular standards for the transportation of pharmaceutical products.
The CEIV initiative was introduced in 2014 and since then a number of carriers, airports and forwarders have taken advantage of the scheme.
