EAL, one of the largest air cargo terminal operators at Shanghai Hongqiao and Pudong airports, along with lux-Airport have made an agreement to promote the transportation of time- and temperature-sensitive products and medicines, in accordance with the EU and World Health Organisation Good Distribution Practice certifications.
The MoU was signed on June 15 in Shanghai, within the context of the Air Cargo China 2016 exhibition and conference.
In signing the memorandum, both parties agree to exert their best efforts to maintain “a fully GDP secured end-to-end trade lane for pharma and healthcare shipments,” expressed Mr Jin Xu, Vice President of EAL. “We shall stand together to provide more comprehensive, professional and reliable services to all kinds of clients in this high-valued specific market in the bright future,” he went on to say.
Johan Vanneste, CEO of lux-Airport, also commented on the development: “This is the second such agreement we sign and I noticed some other airports are now copying us. I am convinced this is a very interesting and unique development for shippers of valuable pharma shipments, and that it will stimulate traffic between Shanghai, the world’s third largest cargo airport, and Luxembourg,” Vanneste concluded.
With this agreement, both parties demonstrate their commitment to ensuring the quality, integrity and safety of pharmaceutical and healthcare products, both on the ground and in the air.
