dnata commits over $200m to upgrade GSE fleet

dnata has signed agreements with leading GSE manufacturers worth over $210 million to upgrade its fleet in accordance with the Green First approach.

The GSE will be provided by eight manufacturers and deliveries are starting this month.

The investment was announced at the Airport Show in Dubai.

More than $29 million worth of orders have already been committed with the vehicles enhancing efficiency, safety and sustainability across dnata’s network.

The contract includes investing over $100 million in GSE for dnata’s Dubai fleet where demand is strong and is expected to be strong in the future.

In Dubai, dnata operates 2,500 pieces of GSE at Dubai International and Dubai World Central airports, where dnata serves over 190 airlines.

Steve Allen, CEO of dnata Group, said: “We are committed to investing in best-in-class equipment and working with renowned partners to provide superior value and services to our customers. Today’s newly announced deals reflect our long-term strategy to constantly enhance our capabilities and adapt to the evolving needs of our industry. We will continue to invest in modern fleet and the latest technologies to remain at the forefront of the industry.”

dnata says electrification is not the answer everywhere, saying it will consider climate conditions and available infrastructure.

It will work with manufacturers and airport operators to invest in a mix of equipment types including biodiesel, electric and hybrid GSE to maximise environmental and operational efficiency.
